Outstanding Citizenship Award
The Fox Valley chapter participates in the Illinois SAR Outstanding Citizenship program. Member Ted Miller oversees the program, and reaches out to high schools for candidates.
Homeschooled children with high school equivalency across our Chapter’s service area are eligible as well.
We also encourage National Society Children of the American Revolution (NSCAR), and children of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) of high school age to reach out to us.
Schools are sent forms that can be used to nominate a student that the school believes meets the values noted in the the invitation letter.
A Fox Valley SAR chapter committee will review all nominations received and decide upon a winner.
These embossed certificates are presented to outstanding seniors, male or female, in citizenship at the school's awards assembly.
In addition to the certificate, a pin is included as part of the annual award. Outstanding seniors (typically) are selected by the school based on Dependability, Honesty, Courtesy, Respect, Leadership and Patriotism.
And finally, winners will also receive a cash reward!
