Stars & Stripes Sporting Clays

Thank you for your continued support of the Flag Day Monument!  The Fox Valley Patriotic Organization is hosting our annual fundraiser next month which helps support our ongoing expenses and upkeep and helps us to continue working on an educational area that will also serve as a gathering space for the community.

SAR Fox Valley Chapter Meeting

We are excited to announce that our next Fox Valley SAR Chapter meeting will be held at Cantigny Park in Wheaton in conjunction with their Revolutionary War Reenactment Weekend. Click here for more information about the Cantigny event:

📅 Date & Time: September 13th at 10:00- 11:30 AM
📍 Location: Theater in the Visitor Center, Cantigny - 1S151 Winfield Rd. Wheaton, IL 60189

At this meeting, we will present and vote on the slate of nominated individuals for two-year office terms. Your participation is important—please come and let your voice be heard.

We plan to keep the meeting to about one hour, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy the battle reenactments, camps, and living history programs throughout the day.

In the afternoon, our chapter will host an information table with one of our DAR partners. We encourage you to stop by, spend time with us, and help share what SAR is all about with the public.

Parking Information:
Parking at Cantigny is $16 per car. To save costs, we suggest carpooling. A nearby shopping center offers ample parking if you'd like to gather with others and share a ride.

American Revolution Experience - Traveling Exhibit

The American Battlefield Trust and the Daughters of the American Revolution are sponsoring a Traveling Exhibit of the Revolutionary War.

This is an award-winning and unique exposition showcasing many aspects of the Revolution, and is an excellent resource, including digital information and physical artifacts, for educators as well as the general public.

It will be coming to the Fountaindale Library in August. The library is located at 300 W Briarcliff Rd., Bolingbrook, IL 60440.

Fourth of July Parade

Please join us for the Downer’s Grove Fourth of July Parade!

The Parade itself actually starts at 1:00pm. 11:30am is for folks marching in the parage to muster up in “Staging Area 5.”

Members of the ILSSAR Color Guard are welcome to march in uniform.  Any other FVSAR members, family or friends can march in patriotic attire (red/white/blue shirt and khaki pants or shorts).

As per usual in early July, we are expecting hot weather, so please bring plenty of water/refreshment to keep hydrated.

If you are a member of the ILSSAR Color Guard and are planning to march, please contact Jon Fixmer at jfixmer73@yahoo.com to let him know you'll be marching.  He'll like to get a count of who is marching to determine who will carry flags, guns, and the NEW Chapter banner.

Memorial Day Parade

Memorial Day Parade

All Fox Valley and other SAR chapter members AND family are welcome to march in the parade. Dress code is an SAR or navy/dark blue shirt and khaki shorts or pants for FVSAR members and patriotic wear for family. Or come in colonial uniform if you have one! We are meeting in the Centennial Beach parking lot by 9:30 am for staging and the parade starts at 10:30am. Please come out and support the FVSAR and our Memorial Day!

Downtown parking lots, provided as a courtesy - Please carefully review and monitor parking restrictions for the day of the parade and plan accordingly.
