The FVSAR will be present in partnership with the Isle a la Cache NSDAR chapter.

The DuPage County Genealogical Society is having its 2026 Annual Conference at the Northern Illinois University Conference Center. The Fox Valley Chapter of the SAR will be exhibiting at the conference.

There will be a flag-raising ceremony sponsored by the Naperville Heritage Society to celebrate our America 250 year at the Pre-Emption House at the Naper Settlement in Naperville, IL. The Society will be assisted by the Naperville Combined American Legion Post 43/Judd Kendall VFW Post 4873 Color Guard. There will be refreshments and educational displays. All are invited!

The ceremony will start at 12:30pm at the Pre-Emption House, located at 507 South Webster Street in Naperville, IL 60540.

The Martha Ibbetson DAR chapter is sponsoring an America250 flag raising at the Elmhurst History Museum Education Center.

At this meeting, we will present and vote on the slate of nominated individuals for two-year office terms. Your participation is important—please come and let your voice be heard.

We plan to keep the meeting to about one hour, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy the battle reenactments, camps, and living history programs throughout the day.

In the afternoon, our chapter will host an information table with one of our DAR partners. We encourage you to stop by, spend time with us, and help share what SAR is all about with the public.

Parking Information:
Parking at Cantigny is $16 per car. To save costs, we suggest carpooling. A nearby shopping center offers ample parking if you'd like to gather with others and share a ride.

Please join us for the Downer’s Grove Fourth of July Parade!

The Parade itself actually starts at 1:00pm. 11:30am is for folks marching in the parage to muster up in “Staging Area 5.”

Members of the ILSSAR Color Guard are welcome to march in uniform.  Any other FVSAR members, family or friends can march in patriotic attire (red/white/blue shirt and khaki pants or shorts).

As per usual in early July, we are expecting hot weather, so please bring plenty of water/refreshment to keep hydrated.

If you are a member of the ILSSAR Color Guard and are planning to march, please contact Jon Fixmer at jfixmer73@yahoo.com to let him know you'll be marching.  He'll like to get a count of who is marching to determine who will carry flags, guns, and the NEW Chapter banner.

Flag Day Information Flyer

All Fox Valley and other SAR chapter members AND family are welcome to march in the parade. Dress code is an SAR or navy/dark blue shirt and khaki shorts or pants for FVSAR members and patriotic wear for family. Or come in colonial uniform if you have one! We are meeting in the Centennial Beach parking lot by 9:30 am for staging and the parade starts at 10:30am. Please come out and support the FVSAR and our Memorial Day!
